OTTO Boosts Material Flow Efficiency with Advanced Traffic Management in Latest Software Update

Autonomous mobile robot provider expands software capabilities to deliver faster performance, improved traffic control, and strengthened security

Kitchener, ON — October 8, 2024 — OTTO by Rockwell Automation (NYSE: ROK), a leading provider of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), today launched its latest software update, version 2.32, designed to help manufacturers move more material, faster.

“We carefully prioritize every feature in our semi-annual releases to ensure they address our customer’s most critical needs. This means every single feature we release needs to deliver real impact,” said Jay Judkowitz, Vice President, Product, OTTO by Rockwell Automation. "In this latest update, we're excited to introduce faster deliveries and additional authentication options to our customers."

The latest software update delivers:

  • Up to 2x average speed increase for OTTO 1500: When an overhanging payload is unloaded, intelligent sensing technology will adjust the AMR’s LiDAR safety footprint, enabling more nimble movement and higher throughput.
  • Streamlined traffic flow in tight spaces: The new Yield Line feature eliminates stop-and-go actions at intersections, allowing AMRs to continue uninterrupted at speed when no obstacles are detected, resulting in smoother and more efficient movement through busy zones.
  • Improved authentication for enhanced fleet security: With years of experience deploying in mission-critical environments, the company understands that security is paramount. OTTO App now verifies with OTTO Fleet Manager to ensure users are logged in and authorized to access controls, reflecting OTTO and Rockwell Automation’s continued commitment to enhancing security measures to customers.

OTTO leads the industry in customer-focused innovation, delivering semi-annual software updates that enhance the value of autonomous material handling solutions for manufacturers around the world. OTTO’s software is proven in the industry with over seven million hours of production driving experience, trusted in more than 700,000 monthly deliveries in mission-critical facilities worldwide.
