Executive bios and headshots
- Matt Rendall, CEO and Co-Founder
Matt Rendall is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Clearpath Robotics by Rockwell Automation and OTTO by Rockwell Automation. He co-founded Clearpath Robotics in 2009, establishing the company as a global leader in autonomous mobile robots for research and development. In 2015, the founders established OTTO, the industrial division that brought Clearpath’s autonomous technology to the material handling industry. He was instrumental in Rockwell Automation’s acquisition of the companies in October 2023. Matt frequently speaks on the future of robotics, autonomous technology and the digitization of industry. He currently serves on the Technology Steering Board for the Association for Advancing Automation and is on the Board of Directors at First, the world's largest youth robotics nonprofit. Matt was named Ernst & Young's 2023 Entrepreneur Of The Year, received the 2024 Lifetime Achievement Pros to Know award, and earned the 2024 Stevie Award for Manufacturing Executive of the Year. He holds a B.A.Sc. in Mechatronics Engineering and a Master’s in Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology (MBET) from the University of Waterloo.
- Ryan Gariepy, CTO and Co-Founder
Ryan Gariepy is the Chief Technology Officer of Clearpath Robotics by Rockwell Automation and OTTO by Rockwell Automation. He co-founded Clearpath Robotics in 2009, establishing the company as a global leader in autonomous mobile robots for research and development. In 2015, the founders established OTTO, the industrial division that brought Clearpath’s autonomous technology to the material handling industry. He was instrumental in Rockwell Automation’s acquisition of the companies in October 2023. Ryan is a board member of the Open Source Robotics Foundation, co-founder of ROSCon, and co-founder and co-chair of the Canadian Robotics Council. Ryan is also a senior member of the IEEE, holds over 100 granted and pending patents in the field of autonomous systems, and is a leading angel investor in robotics companies worldwide. In 2023, he was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Canadian Image Processing and Pattern Recognition Society. Ryan holds a B.A.Sc. in Mechatronics Engineering and a M.A.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
- Jay Judkowitz, VP of Product
Jay Judkowitz is the Vice President of Product at OTTO by Rockwell Automation, where he defines the company’s product strategy, oversees on-time and on-budget delivery, and champions the value of OTTO’s solutions to global stakeholders. Prior to joining OTTO, Jay spent over 20 years working in the heart of Silicon Valley at Intel, VMware, and Google Cloud. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Michigan State University.
